Description and fund objective

iShares Conservative Portfolio UCITS ETF is an actively managed ETF: it does not track an index. It is a multi-asset (balanced) ETF: a single instrument combining several asset classes — typically stocks and bonds — in the proportions set by its strategy. Mind the share class: this is the version hedged to USD — returns reflect the index plus the effect (and cost) of hedging into that currency. The declared annual cost (TER) is 0.25%, plus 0.03% in transaction costs estimated by the issuer in the KID. Income is accumulated and reinvested in the fund. The fund has assets of about 1 million euro, was launched on 29 March 2022 and is domiciled in Ireland. In our registry there are 16 other multi-asset ETFs.

The fund’s objective — in the issuer’s words

The Fund is actively managed without reference to a benchmark meaning the investment manager (IM) has absolute discretion to select the Fund’s investments and is not constrained by any target, comparator or performance benchmark.

Keep reading the KID section ▾

The Fund aims to achieve a return on your investment through a combination of capital growth and income on the Fund's investments whilst maintaining a conservative risk profile (i.e. an evaluation of the risks associated with the portfolio) of 3-7%, in a manner consistent with the Fund’s environmental, social and governance criteria (ESG Criteria). The risk profile of the Fund, for this purpose, is the degree of fluctuation of the Fund’s returns converted into an annual rate, over a five-year period. The Fund will predominantly invest in other funds and investment products, including UCITS mutual funds, UCITS exchange traded funds (UCITS ETFs) and UCITS eligible exchange traded commodities. The Fund will obtain indirect exposure to a variety of asset classes globally, including fixed income securities (e.g. bonds), equity securities (e.g. shares), precious metals, and may hold permitted money market instruments (e.g. debt instruments with short-term maturities), permitted deposits and cash. At least 80% of the Fund’s assets will, at the time of purchase, be invested in funds tracking indices that meet the Fund’s ESG Criteria: exclude certain investments based on ESG-related characteristics; or are comprised of government bond issuers with an ESG sovereign rating of BB or higher (as defined by MSCI or other third party provider). The Fund will use quantitative (i.e. mathematical or statistical) models in order to inform its approach to stock selection. The Fund’s investments are determined based on consistency between the risk profile of the Fund’s portfolio and the investment objective; ESG Criteria; the IM’s investment models; and the IM’s discretionary insights. The Fund will seek to stay within the stated risk profile by varying its asset allocations in different market conditions. Under normal market conditions, the Fund will seek a lower exposure to equity securities (which are generally considered to be more risky compared to fixed income securities), compared to a fund with a higher risk profile which would seek to have a lower exposure to fixed income securities. The IM may use financial derivative instruments (i.e. investments the prices of which are based on one or more underlying assets) to reduce risk within the Fund’s portfolio, reduce investment costs and generate additional income. The Fund may also engage in short-term secured lending of its investments to certain eligible third parties to generate additional income to off-set the costs of the Fund. Recommendation: This Fund may not be appropriate for short-term investment.

Your shares will be accumulating shares (i.e. income will be included in their value). The Fund’s base currency is Euro. Shares for this Share Class are denominated in US Dollar. The performance of your shares may be affected by this currency difference. Your shares will be hedged with the aim of reducing the effect of exchange rate fluctuations between the denominated currency of the shares and the Fund’s underlying portfolio currencies or the Fund’s base currency. FDIs, including FX forward contracts, will be used for currency hedging purposes. The hedging strategy may not completely eliminate currency risk and, therefore, may affect the performance of your shares. Please see the prospectus for further details. The shares are listed on one or more stock exchanges and may be traded in currencies other than their base currency. The performance of your shares may be affected by this currency difference. In normal circumstances, only authorised participants (e.g. select financial institutions) may deal in shares (or interests in shares) directly with the Fund. Other investors can deal in shares (or interests in shares) daily through an intermediary on stock exchange (s) on which the shares are traded. Indicative net asset value is published on relevant stock exchanges websites.

Chart, returns, risk and the simulation use the issuer’s total-return series (base 100, as of 16 October 2026): for an accumulating class it is the same thing as the NAV, published with more decimals. The latest NAV at the top of the page is the published one.
Note — currency risk: the fund is denominated (or hedged) in USD and the chart is in USD. For a euro investor, returns also depend on the EUR/USD exchange rate, up or down.
Currency-hedged share class: our figures are computed on the issuer’s NAV, where the hedge is applied at the daily fixing. NAV and exchange prices can differ, so comparison sites using the price may show different returns and volatility: any specific gap can only be judged by comparing the series, dates and method used. Details in the methodology.
Tip: drag across the chart to zoom into a period.

Method and sources

Source: iShares. Issuer-declared historical series; inflation: Eurostat and national statistical institutes, latest available August 2026 — for later days the index stays at the last published value (institutes publish with a few weeks’ lag). The «adjusted for inflation» view expresses value in today’s purchasing power for the selected country; volatility always stays nominal, as elsewhere on the site (deflating it would add artificial swings caused by the monthly cadence of the price index). Past performance is not indicative of future results: these are facts, not a recommendation.

Tracking difference — fund vs index

We do not publish a tracking difference for this share class — and it is not an oversight.

MACU is hedged to USD; the index the issuer places next to it in its documents is the unhedged, foreign-currency version. Subtracting one from the other does not measure replication quality: it measures the exchange rate. In a year when the currency moves 5%, “the TD” would come out near 5 points — a plausible-looking number, with decimals, and wrong.

Other sites publish that number. We would rather show one figure less than one figure wrong: the TD will return here the day we have the USD-hedged index series, which the issuer does not publish today.

Windows longer than the available price history cannot be computed and are not shown: they will appear on their own as time passes. Computed from the issuer’s daily total-return series (base 100: for an accumulating class it coincides with the NAV, with more decimals), always in nominal terms. Sharpe and Sortino use the ECB main refinancing rate averaged over the period (last year: 2.25%), weighted by days in force, as the risk-free rate. Same formulas as our public methodology: sample standard deviation annualised over 252 days; Sortino with downside deviation. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Figures in EUR — series converted day by day at ECB reference rates; the table follows the currency selected in the chart.

Each row is one exchange: the operator with all its markets and segments (regulated market and Freiverkehr included). “Registered since”: admission date in the ESMA register (FIRDS), not necessarily the first trading day; a dash = date not recorded in the sources.
+ 5 other trading platforms (platforms for professional participants and segments without admission to listing, such as an exchange operator’s dark books or auctions): they are not exchanges and are not listed.
Exchanges are taken from the official ESMA register (FIRDS) and, where FIRDS does not cover the exchange (London, Zurich) or does not record the current listing, from the issuers’ product lists and documents: the “Exchange source” column says so row by row. Each exchange is a single row, with all its markets and segments. Tickers come from the issuers’ product lists and tax documents or, where indicated, from ISIN→exchange mapping under the open FIGI standard (OpenFIGI). Activity on a dark book, an auction or an ancillary platform does not prove a listing on the exchange that operates it. Rebalix mainly covers venues in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom: when the issuer declares current listings in other jurisdictions too, they appear with their source, outside the ESMA register perimeter. Terminated or cancelled listings are not shown. The same fund may trade in different currencies depending on the exchange: check the trading currency with your broker.
