Description

UBS US Equity Defensive Put Write SF UCITS ETF hEUR acc tracks the issuer-declared index: US Equity Defensive Put Write Index (TR) (hedged EUR). The declared annual cost (TER) is 0.24%, plus 0.00% in transaction costs estimated by the issuer in the KID. Replication is synthetic replication (fully funded + total return swap). The fund has assets of about 90 million euro, was launched on 31 July 2025 and is domiciled in Ireland.

The fund’s objective — in the issuer’s words

The objective of the Fund is capital appreciation. The Fund tracks the daily performance of an equity index, called the US Equity Defensive Put Write index (the 'Index'), less fees and costs and consequently is passively managed. The Fund invests in financial derivative instruments ('FDIs') with UBS AG, London Branch ('UBS') as counterparty. The Fund may also invest in securities (e.g. company shares and bonds issued by companies and governments). Under the terms of the FDIs, the performance of the Index is swapped from UBS to the Fund, and in return the performance of the securities is swapped from the Fund to UBS – consequently, the Fund's performance reflects the performance of the Index and is not impacted by the performance of the securities. The Index is designed to reflect the performance of a strategy which consists of: a) depositing money and earning a short-term interest rate (which maybe negative) and b) selling put options on the S&P500® (the 'Underlying Index'). The seller of a put option on the Underlying Index receives a cash premium from the buyer, and in return the option buyer has the right to sell the Underlying Index at a fixed price in the future to the option seller. More information on the Index is available at www.solactive.com. The Fund does not invest directly in the short-term deposit, or sell put options - instead the Fund achieves these exposures indirectly using FDIs. As a result of fees and costs, the performance of the Fund on any day may be less than the performance of the Index on that day. Sustainability risks are not systematically integrated as they are not considered as part of the Index selection process. The return of the fund depends mainly on the performance of the tracked index. The share class does not pay dividends. The exchange rate risk of the share class currency is to a large extent hedged against the currency of the fund.

Currency-hedged share class: our figures are computed on the issuer’s NAV, where the hedge is applied at the daily fixing. Comparison sites using the exchange price may show returns and volatility that differ by 1–2 points: on hedged classes the price-vs-NAV gap is structurally wider and grows with the length of the window. Not a data error — a measurement convention. Details in the methodology.

From month-end NAVs, over the fund’s full history, on the series shown in the chart (dividends reinvested where declared). Deeper colour = larger move.
Source: UBS. Issuer-declared historical series; inflation: Eurostat and national statistical institutes, latest available July 2026 — for later days the index stays at the last published value (institutes publish with a few weeks’ lag). The «adjusted for inflation» view expresses value in today’s purchasing power for the selected country; volatility always stays nominal, as elsewhere on the site (deflating it would add artificial swings caused by the monthly cadence of the price index). Past performance is not indicative of future results: these are facts, not a recommendation.

Tracking difference — fund vs index

We do not publish a tracking difference for this share class — and it is not an oversight.

this share class is hedged to EUR; the index the issuer places next to it in its documents is the unhedged, foreign-currency version. Subtracting one from the other does not measure replication quality: it measures the exchange rate. In a year when the currency moves 5%, “the TD” would come out near 5 points — a plausible-looking number, with decimals, and wrong.

Other sites publish that number. We would rather show one figure less than one figure wrong: the TD will return here the day we have the EUR-hedged index series, which the issuer does not publish today.

Windows longer than the available price history cannot be computed and are not shown: they will appear on their own as time passes. Computed from the daily NAV series, always in nominal terms. Sharpe and Sortino use the ECB main refinancing rate averaged over the period (last year: 2.21%), weighted by days in force, as the risk-free rate. Same formulas as our public methodology: sample standard deviation annualised over 252 days; Sortino with downside deviation. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
