Description and fund objective

iShares $ TIPS 0-5 UCITS ETF tracks the issuer-declared index: ICE U.S. Treasury 0-5 Year Inflation Linked Bond Index. Mind the share class: this is the version hedged to Mexican Peso (MXN) — returns reflect the index plus the effect (and cost) of hedging into that currency. The declared annual cost (TER) is 0.12%, plus 0.00% in transaction costs estimated by the issuer in the KID. Replication is optimised physical replication (the KID declares optimisation techniques to achieve a return similar to the index); income is accumulated and reinvested in the fund. The fund has assets of about 139 million euro, was launched on 9 September 2021 and is domiciled in Ireland.

The fund’s objective — in the issuer’s words

The Share Class is a share class of a Fund which aims to achieve a return on your investment, through a combination of capital growth and income on the Fund’s assets, which reflects the return of the ICE U.S. Treasury Inflation Linked Bond Index 0-5 Years, the Fund’s benchmark index (Index).

Keep reading the KID section ▾

The Share Class, via the Fund is passively managed, and aims to invest so far as possible and practicable in the fixed income (FI) securities (such as bonds) that make up the Index and comply with its credit rating requirements. If the credit ratings of the FI securities are downgraded, the Fund may continue to hold them until they cease to form part of the Index and it is practicable to sell them. The Index measures the performance of the US Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (US TIPS) market. The Index includes only inflationprotected bonds issued by the US Treasury that have a remaining maturity of between zero and five years and a minimum amount outstanding of US$300 million. The Index uses a market capitalisation weighted methodology. Market capitalisation is the market value of the outstanding bond issuance. Bonds must be fixed rate and denominated in US Dollar, with coupons (i.e. interest) and principal paid in US Dollar. The Index excludes US state and local government series bonds and Treasury STRIPS (Separate Trading of Registered Interest and Principal of Securities), floating rate notes, cash management and US Treasury bills, and any government agency debt issued with or without a government guarantee. The FI securities will, at the time of inclusion in the Index, be investment grade (i.e. meet a specified level of creditworthiness). The Fund uses optimising techniques to achieve a similar return to its Index. These may include the strategic selection of certain securities that make up the Index or other FI securities which provide similar performance to certain constituent securities. These may also include the use of financial derivative instruments (FDIs) (i.e. investments the prices of which are based on one or more underlying assets). FDIs may be used for direct investment purposes. The Fund may also engage in short-term secured lending of its investments to certain eligible third parties to generate additional income to off-set the costs of the Fund.

The price of fixed income securities may be affected by changing interest rates which in turn may affect the value of your investment. Fixed income securities prices move inversely to interest rates. Therefore, the market value of fixed income securities may decrease as interest rates increase. The credit rating of an issuing entity will generally affect the yield that can be earned on fixed income securities; the better the credit rating the smaller the yield. The relationship between the return on your investment, how it is impacted and the period for which you hold your investment is considered below (see “How long should I hold it and can I take my money out early?”).

The depositary of the Fund is The Bank of New York Mellon SA/NV, Dublin Branch. Further information about the Fund can be obtained from the latest annual report and half-yearly reports of the iShares II plc. These documents are available free of charge in English and certain other languages. These can be found, along with other (practical) information, including prices of units, on the iShares website at: www.ishares.com or by calling +49 89427295800 or from your broker or financial adviser.

Your shares will be accumulating shares (i.e. income will be included in their value). The Fund’s base currency is US Dollar. Shares for this Share Class are denominated in Mexican Peso. The performance of your shares may be affected by this currency difference. Your shares will be hedged with the aim of reducing the effect of exchange rate fluctuations between the denominated currency of the shares and the Fund’s underlying portfolio currencies or the Fund’s base currency. FDIs, including FX forward contracts, will be used for currency hedging purposes. The hedging strategy may not completely eliminate currency risk and, therefore, may affect the performance of your shares. Please see the prospectus for further details. The shares are listed and traded on various stock exchanges. In normal circumstances, only authorised participants may buy and sell shares directly with the Fund. Investors who are not authorised participants (e.g. select financial institutions) can generally only buy or sell the shares on the secondary market (e.g. via a broker on a stock exchange) at the then prevailing market price. The value of the shares are related to the value of the underlying assets of the Fund, less costs (see “What are the costs?” below). The prevailing market price at which the shares trade on the secondary market may deviate from the value of the Shares. Indicative net asset value is published on relevant stock exchanges websites.

Intended retail investor:The Fund is intended for retail investors with the ability to bear losses up to the amount invested in the Fund (see “How long should I hold it and can I take my money out early?”).

Insurance benefits:The Fund does not offer any insurance benefits.

Chart, returns, risk and the simulation use the issuer’s total-return series (base 100, as of 15 October 2026): for an accumulating class it is the same thing as the NAV, published with more decimals. The latest NAV at the top of the page is the published one.
Note — currency risk: the fund is denominated (or hedged) in MXN and the chart is in MXN. For a euro investor, returns also depend on the EUR/MXN exchange rate, up or down.
Currency-hedged share class: our figures are computed on the issuer’s NAV, where the hedge is applied at the daily fixing. NAV and exchange prices can differ, so comparison sites using the price may show different returns and volatility: any specific gap can only be judged by comparing the series, dates and method used. Details in the methodology.
Tip: drag across the chart to zoom into a period.

Drawdown — distance from previous peak

Method and sources

Source: iShares. Issuer-declared historical series; inflation: Eurostat and national statistical institutes, latest available August 2026 — for later days the index stays at the last published value (institutes publish with a few weeks’ lag). The «adjusted for inflation» view expresses value in today’s purchasing power for the selected country; volatility always stays nominal, as elsewhere on the site (deflating it would add artificial swings caused by the monthly cadence of the price index). Past performance is not indicative of future results: these are facts, not a recommendation.

Tracking difference — fund vs index

We do not publish a tracking difference for this share class — and it is not an oversight.

TI5MX is hedged to MXN; the index the issuer places next to it in its documents is the unhedged, foreign-currency version. Subtracting one from the other does not measure replication quality: it measures the exchange rate. In a year when the currency moves 5%, “the TD” would come out near 5 points — a plausible-looking number, with decimals, and wrong.

Other sites publish that number. We would rather show one figure less than one figure wrong: the TD will return here the day we have the MXN-hedged index series, which the issuer does not publish today.

Still want to know how well this fund tracks its index? Look at the unhedged sister class, TI5A, where fund and index share the same currency: its TD is the right measure of the management, which is the same. Go to the TI5A page →

Windows longer than the available price history cannot be computed and are not shown: they will appear on their own as time passes. Computed from the issuer’s daily total-return series (base 100: for an accumulating class it coincides with the NAV, with more decimals), always in nominal terms. Sharpe and Sortino use the ECB main refinancing rate averaged over the period (last year: 2.25%), weighted by days in force, as the risk-free rate. Same formulas as our public methodology: sample standard deviation annualised over 252 days; Sortino with downside deviation. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

Exchanges are taken from the official ESMA register (FIRDS) and, where FIRDS does not cover the exchange (London, Zurich) or does not record the current listing, from the issuers’ product lists and documents: the “Exchange source” column says so row by row. Each exchange is a single row, with all its markets and segments. Tickers come from the issuers’ product lists and tax documents or, where indicated, from ISIN→exchange mapping under the open FIGI standard (OpenFIGI). Activity on a dark book, an auction or an ancillary platform does not prove a listing on the exchange that operates it. Rebalix mainly covers venues in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom: when the issuer declares current listings in other jurisdictions too, they appear with their source, outside the ESMA register perimeter. Terminated or cancelled listings are not shown. The same fund may trade in different currencies depending on the exchange: check the trading currency with your broker.
