iShares iBonds Dec 2029 Term $ Treasury UCITS ETF tracks the issuer-declared index: ICE 2029 Maturity US Treasury UCITS (G29U) Index. The declared annual cost (TER) is 0.10%, plus 0.03% in transaction costs estimated by the issuer in the KID. Replication is optimised physical replication (the KID declares optimisation techniques to achieve a return similar to the index); income is accumulated and reinvested in the fund. The fund has assets of about 9 million euro, was launched on 26 June 2024 and is domiciled in Ireland.
The Share Class is a share class of a Fund, which aims to achieve a return on your investment, through a combination of capital growth and income on the Fund’s assets, which reflects the return of the ICE 2029 Maturity US Treasury UCITS Index, the Fund’s benchmark index (Index). The Share Class, via the Fund, is passively managed and aims to invest so far as possible and practicable in the fixed income (FI) securities (such as bonds) that make up the Index. The Index tracks the performance of US Treasury notes and bonds with maturities between 01/01/29 and 02/12/29, inclusive. To be eligible for inclusion in the Index securities must have a fixed coupon schedule and an amount outstanding, excluding amounts held in the Federal Reserve’s SOMA account (the System Open Market Account contains assets acquired through operations in the open market that are used as a store of liquidity by the Federal Reserve Bank.) of at least $1 billion. Inflation-linked debt and strips are excluded from the Index; however, the amounts outstanding of eligible securities are not reduced by any coupon portions that have been stripped. US Treasury bills are not eligible for inclusion in the Index except during the cash reinvestment period in the maturity year. The Index is market capitalisation weighted and rebalances on a monthly basis. Index constituents are market capitalization weighted based on amounts outstanding reduced by amounts held in the Federal Reserve’s SOMA account, times price, plus accrued interest. Market capitalisation is the market value of the outstanding bond issuance. The Fund uses optimising techniques to achieve a similar return to the Index. These may include the strategic selection of certain securities that make up the Index and also the use of financial derivative instruments (FDIs( which may be used for direct investment purposes. The Fund may also engage in short term secured lending of its investments to certain eligible third parties to generate additional income to off-set the costs of the Fund. Recommendation: This Fund is suitable for medium to long term investment, though the Fund may also be suitable for shorter term exposure to the Index. This Fund may not be appropriate for investors who plan to withdraw their money before 02/12/29. Further information about the Fund can be obtained from the latest annual report and half-yearly reports of the iShares V plc.
